Sky Zone Trampoline Park
By now you might have heard the buzz around town about the
brand new Sky Zone Trampoline Park recently opened in Florence,
Alabama—and you can believe all the hype. The large, shiny new facility
located on Mangum St. close to the mall, is every child’s dream with cheery,
bright orange signs, upbeat music, and plenty of stations to jump with friends,
make memories, and embrace the lighter side of life. This incredible space is a
unique and much needed addition to the Florence area as it provides field trip
opportunities for schools, workout classes for adults, and a healthy way for
kids to have fun with friends in a well organized, safe environment monitored
by an energetic staff trained to ensure safety and promote fun. Kim Moore, the
owner of Sky Zone, realized that her son’s school frequently went to
Huntsville for field trip and entertainment purposes, so by opening the
trampoline park her goal was to provide a place for everyone in the community
to enjoy right here in the Shoals.
Since the Grand Opening on August 20th the
reception has been remarkable with the community embracing and enjoying the new
jump space and all it has to offer. The facility is open Tuesday through Sunday
and offers a variety of activities for both children and adults of all ages.
Upon walking into the lobby guests are greeted with a large counter to purchase
tickets and washable Sky Socks, which must be worn while on the trampolines. Tables and bleachers are set up around the
concession counter to rest and enjoy snacks and drinks, next to stairs, which
lead up to the multiple trampoline stations including a Warrior Obstacle
Course, modeled after the American Ninja Warrior course. Florence’s Sky Zone is
one of the first Sky Zone parks to get the course and is the only one in
Alabama to offer the challenging obstacles, which includes a timer that self
starts as soon as you begin and ends when you race to the end and hit the post
to stop the time. It’s a fun way to exercise and enjoy a friendly competition.
The competition continues with a trampoline
Dodgeball court, that includes trampolines located on the walls. There will be weekly
dodgeball tournaments beginning in October and there are frequently pick up
dodgeball games throughout the week. There is also a Sky Slam Dunk
section, with three basketball goal lanes set in various heights—the
trampolines allow guests to test their skills and compete against friends to
see who can create the most complex slam dunks. The remainder of the park
includes a large open jumping space that can easily be divided to give smaller children and older kids their separate jump area, as well as a Foam Zone that allows guests to jump straight
into 5000 cubes of foam, a hilarious and unforgettable time for both children
and adults. This well, organized facility is incredibly clean and safe with safety
videos set up on flat-screen TVs throughout the area and interactive Court
Monitors, who are well-trained, energetic employees ready to keep guests safe
and encourage fun activities throughout the day.
Sky Zone also offers a wide variety of activities for
the community including Birthday Parties, which provides a party room and comes
with pizza, drinks, plates, etc.—all the parents have to do is bring the cake!
They also offer group rates for Field Trips and Lock-ins, Fundraiser Nights once per week, a weekly
Hoppy Hour on Wednesdays, which gives college students a discount, a Home
School Hop on the 4th Friday of every month, and a Toddler
Time throughout the week, which is only $10 for both child and accompanying
parent for the hour. Many of their community activities are incredibly
thoughtful, including a Sensory Friendly Night for Special Needs individuals, which occurs once a month for an hour, transforms the gym into a
soothing space with dim lighting, no music, and provides trained employees to
work with guests. There is a way for everyone in the community to get involved and enjoy this multi-purpose park.
Finally, and maybe most obviously, Sky Zone is the ultimate
alternative work out space with plenty of trampolines to provide a
high-intensity, calorie-burning workout. Sky Fit Workout classes are led by an
instructor and offered every week on Tuesday-Thursday, and on Saturdays—it’s a
challenging, cardio workout that is non-stop fun, and an excellent way to get
out of the regular gym routine, and create a fun workout experience with
friends. The possibilities for this new space are endless and it’s
incredibly exciting to see local residents like Kim Moore think outside the box
and create a place that helps pave the way for the Shoals
area to be a top spot in the Southeast region to visit and enjoy.
