Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa

With work schedules and the busyness of every day life it’s often difficult to find time to relax, and planning an extended vacation out of state or out of the country can be a daunting and often expensive task—however, there’s an opportunity to get away from it all and it’s only a few minutes away. Escape from the every day in the middle of the Shoals by enjoying a Staycation at the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa. The grand hotel sits on top of a hill overlooking Wilson Dam and the blue waters of the Tennessee River. The Renaissance Tower, which is home to the popular 360 Grille, can be seen across the Shoals area and stands as a consistent reminder to indulge, relax, and take time to enjoy life, whether it’s dining at one of their incredible restaurants for a night, or booking a weekend staycation for the family to spend time together and make memories. Located off of Veteran’s Drive, the hotel is in the middle of the Shoals, but upon entering the property it is like a secluded resort with plenty to do. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy including top-rated restaurants with live music, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, relaxing spa, playground, splash pad, and of course incredibly comfortable accomodations.

Whether you decide to bring the whole family along, make it a romantic getaway, or enjoy time with friends, the Hotel has something for everyone. Guests can enjoy two of the top dining experiences in the Shoals at the 360 Grille, which gives visitors a full view of the Shoals as the Renaissance Tower rotates in its fine dining seating area. Through August they have special menus and events, including Blue Mondays, which offers unique cuisine and live Blues music for the night through and on Tuesdays they provide drink specials. Swampers, located next to the lobby of the hotel is a casual dining option where they serve traditional Southern cuisine and guests can choose to dine inside or on the covered patio that overlooks the pool. This fun dining experience pays tribute to that Muscle Shoals sound, with photographs and memorabilia hung on the walls, and live music each night played by talented local musicians. And while the dining options are top-quality, you can expect nothing less from their Spa, which is the epitome of pampering as they offer incredible massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, and pedicures. The serene environment is the ultimate escape with luxurious lounges, robes, and services--this is the way to truly get away from it all and take a moment for you. Also featured on the property is a full fitness center and trails to walk and jog.

However, not everything is just for mom and dad—there are also plenty of things to do for the kids
including a giant outdoor pool complete with a waterslide, fountains, and water cave. In addition the entire family can enjoy their Dive-In Movie series happening through Labor Day weekend where hotel guests can enjoy a family-friendly movie while they swim. This weekend guests can look forward to “The Penguins of Madagascar”, “We Bought a Zoo”, and “Shark Tale”. The area surrounding the pool has comfortable loungers, a poolside bar, and the Swampers Terrace for parents to relax and enjoy their time as their children play. Kids can also have fun at the nearby River Heritage Park which includes a colorful playground and splash pad which plays music and spurts fountains of water from 11:30am – 9:00pm daily with 45-minute show times.

And there’s no reason to wait for your next Staycation at the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa—start this weekend for July 4th! There will be Dive-In Movies July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, as well as Fireworks outside of the Renaissance Tower for those in 360 Grille to enjoy from a completely different view. Give yourself a break this July 4th and don’t miss out on taking advantage of the extended weekend by relaxing, treating yourself to cold drinks, swimming in the resort-style outdoor pool, and eating delicious food on top of the Shoals.
